First Harvest Credit Union has been nationally recognized by America’s Credit Unions for their excellence in marketing and community engagement. First Harvest was awarded a Category’s Best Diamond Award for their marketing and public relations efforts surrounding the co-sponsored New Jersey Credit Union Food Cooperative.
America’s Credit Union’s Marketing, PR & Business Development Council, a national network of more than 1,200 marketing, public relations and business development professionals within the credit union industry, selects the winners of the annual Diamond Awards based on strategy, creativity, design, and results. Over 1,400 entries were submitted from 180 organizations in over 35 categories, which range from digital marketing, community partnerships, design and branding, and more.
First Harvest was awarded a Category’s Best Diamond Award in the Public Relations category for their marketing, earned media, and public relations efforts during the New Jersey Credit Union Food Cooperative. First Harvest created the marketing campaign for the launch and ongoing efforts of this co-sponsored initiative, which took place for the first time in the fall of 2024. Partnering with EdiFi Federal Credit Union, Affinity Federal Credit Union and over 20 additional New Jersey-based credit unions, this initiative aimed to address New Jersey’s rising food insecurity rate and help provide essential food items to families and food pantries throughout the state.
"We are honored to be recognized by our credit union peers as a Category Best in public relations for our New Jersey Credit Union Food Cooperative campaign,” stated First Harvest President & CEO, Mike Dinneen. “Credit Unions exist to serve the underserved, and this food initiative demonstrates that credit unions coming together creates a ripple effect of support that leaves a lasting impression. It is an honor to have worked with so many other New Jersey credit unions to advance the food cooperative mission during this critical time, and I am proud of the innovative strategies our credit union and marketing team have implemented in our community outreach programs and public relations efforts. It’s important that our community knows the deep impact that all of New Jersey’s credit unions have on our underserved citizens. Congratulations to all of our fellow Diamond Award winners this year.”
