Message from Our CEO: Fall 2024 Initiatives

Dear Fellow Members,

As we look ahead to an exciting fall for the credit union and community, I hope this message finds you and your family well. With many economic changes on the horizon, I want to reiterate that our credit union is in the business of investing in people. Our primary function is to serve our membership and better our communities through our products, services, and actions.

Over the past few months, we have made enhancements to our checking product line, including the launches of our simplified First Step Checking program and our brand new higher-yielding Growth Checking Account. We want to earn the opportunity to be your daily financial services partner. We are excited to have more tools and account options to offer our members to best manage their unique financial needs. Our Growth Checking program aims to meet our members’ desire for a solution that offers quick and convenient access to money while seeing a greater return on their funds. We’ve also recently announced our College Ave partnership to provide student loan solutions, which can help our members afford their educational aspirations and find customizable repayment options through refinancing.

We are also finding ways to meet our community’s financial needs through our newest auto lending program. We’re partnering with dozens of auto dealerships throughout Southern New Jersey to provide competitive loan financing options right at the dealership point of sale, providing a greater economic benefit to local residents and businesses.

In addition to our financial offerings, we also serve our local neighborhoods through various outreach initiatives. We recently collected over 3.6 tons of personal documents at our free September Shredder Event. The shredded documents will be recycled and used to create various paper products, which will help save over 60 trees. We also welcomed aspiring young professionals to our corporate center for the Future Bankers and Financial Professionals Camp to introduce these students to promising futures in the financial industry.

Beginning this month, our Charitable Journey program will be collecting donations at our branch locations to support Breast Cancer patients and research through the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. Additionally, we know that credit unions are always stronger when we partner together, which is why we’re co-sponsoring the New Jersey Credit Unions Food Cooperative to help address the growing hunger crisis in New Jersey. With 27 credit unions participating and over 75 branch locations operating as food drop-off sites, we look forward to the widespread impact this initiative will have throughout the state and the direct support it will have on Jersey food pantries or organizations, while truly demonstrating the credit union difference.

These important causes touch so many lives throughout our region, and we hope that by setting the standard for credit union involvement, we continue to fortify our efforts to be a trusted financial and community partner throughout the region.

Our First Harvest team looks forward to the exciting months ahead, and we are proud of our continued efforts to launch financial programs and community service initiatives that directly and positively impact Southern New Jersey families.

As always, I want to thank you for being a member of First Harvest Credit Union!

Sincerely,

Mike Dinneen
